Buffalo Season of Bliss Week Fourteen Preview Blog: Playing For The Future

Since the last game, we cut two notable players. One was Andre Holmes who is a veteran wide receiver who did not see time on the field. The other was Kelvin Benjamin who just did not play like a number one receiver. He never got comfortable in the offense and he just could not hang onto the football. Holmes was picked up by the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs picked up Benjamin. Best of luck to them in the future.

Speaking of the future, the Buffalo Bills (4-8) face the New York Jets (3-9) at Orchard Park today and we have the battle of the rookie quarterbacks. Sam Darnold for the Jets has a 1,983 passing yards with 11 passing touchdowns and 14 interceptions. Like Josh Allen, he has missed a few games due to injury. Since Darnold started off hot, it seems he has regressed throughout the season injury. Meanwhile, Allen has a 1,223 yards passing with five touchdowns and seven interceptions. Although he missed a month of games and his passing looks underwhelming, his athleticism has been showcased more with his legs. On the season he has 389 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The last two games he ran for 99 yards and 135 yards. If he continues this, he could easily break 500 yards in the next two games.

Both the Jets and the Bills defense will look to dictate the game and take advantage of the rookie quarterbacks. Being the home team favors the Bills. There is also the X-factor of the Jets revenge game after being embarrassed 41-10 by Matt Barkley. Either way, both these teams are out of the playoff race and this game will give fans a better look at what the future holds for these young players.

Expect the Shout song to be played multiple times on Sunday. Go Bills!
